The FitMi set includes two wireless disk-shaped controllers and the dedicated RehabStudio application. It is a form of specialized computer game that allows users to perform rehabilitation tasks interactively. RehabStudio adjusts each task and difficulty level to the stage and progress of rehabilitation and the patient's condition.

As progress is made, the difficulty increases, encouraging more repetitions. Using on-screen visual and audio cues, as well as controller vibrations, FitMi provides continuous feedback about exercise performance in a convenient and motivating way.

The principle lies in activating the brain and stimulating its neuroplasticity. Restoring brain function depends directly on this mechanism. Through repeated tasks, FitMi improves the formation of new connections in the brain.

However, studies have shown that the number of repetitions in traditional rehab is often too low, and patients lack stimulation to push further. That results in slower recovery.
